Important Information

How does it work?
ADSL Broadband works through your existing copper telephone line. Think of it as splitting the line into two parts - half for the internet and half for telephone calls. By utilising the telephone line in this manner, you can reach much higher internet speeds than traditional dialup internet.

It also means that when your ADSL modem connects to the internet, it doesn't cost you a local call!

What do I need?
You will need to purchase an ADSL modem - your current dialup modem will not work with ADSL technology. One ADSL filter is included with your ADSL modem however, you may also require additional ADSL filters for your other telephone devices.

What are ADSL filters?
Because ADSL works on a different part of the telephone line, other telephone devices (telephones/faxes/modems) need filters to remove the ADSL sounds from the line. If you do not have filters installed on every device, your ADSL internet connection may drop off and/or modem noises may be audible during telephone calls.

How does Acenet accept payment?
Acenet can automatically deduct your monthly fee from your Credit card or bank account, alternatively you can pay quarterly by Credit card, Cheque, Australian Money Order or Direct Deposit. If you visit our office in Murarrie, Brisbane, you could also pay by Cash or Eftpos.

How long does it take?
Once Acenet has received your completed application form with payment, it takes a minimum of four (4) business days to have the ADSL service provisioned on your telephone line.

This process can be delayed in some circumstances for example, where incompatible equipment requires an upgrade. Unfortunately ADSL services are not available to every household and connection cannot be guaranteed. If ADSL is not available in your area, all monies are refunded and contracts dissolved.

How do I sign up?
If paying by credit card, you can sign up online by clicking here. Alternatively, Acenet can post or fax out an application form to you. Click here to request an application form.
