Diagnosing slow connection speeds

Slow connection speeds are generally caused by incompatible modem hardware and software. In most cases it is the software driver that is causing the problem. The following steps can help increase your modem speed.

  • Ensure you have the latest driver available for your Operating System.
  • Turn off error control (though not recommended).
  • Try settings extra modem AT settings (refer to modem documentation for AT command set).
